IRENE LITVAN, MD

Dr. Irene Litvan is a professor of neurology, the Tasch Endowed Chair of Parkinson’s Disease Research, and director of the Movement Disorder Center at the University of California, San Diego. She has over 25 years of experience in epidemiology, neurological disorders (particularly Parkinson’s disorders), psychiatry, and cognitive neuroscience. Dr. Litvan has published over 300 peer-reviewed scientific research articles and four books. She is Chief Editor of Frontiers in Neurology, Fellow of the American Neurological Association (ANA) and American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Dr. Litvan received the National Institutes of Health Merit Award for leading International Multicenter studies to evaluate and improve the clinical diagnostic criteria of Parkinsonian neurodegenerative disorders.
